It All Stems From Bridal Dresses

If you’re having trouble visualizing your wedding, then I would tell you to start with the dress. The dress is the center of the whole affair. Wedding dresses will help determine the type of wedding you will have - elegant and refined? casual and chic? soft and romantic?- as well as dictate your bridesmaid dresses, other bridal dresses like mother of the bride and mother of the groom, table settings, flowers, décor, even color scheme. You are the centerpiece of the whole wedding. That’s why women fret so much over their wedding dresses - they have an innate understanding that this is the case.

Just because wedding dresses are pivotal, does not necessarily mean they need to be expensive, by the way. There are many beautiful, reasonably priced wedding dresses out there to choose from. The Internet is a great resource for this. No longer are we brides at the mercy of the local wedding shop for our wedding dresses. (They know that once they have you in there, they’ve got you.) Now we can comparison shop and even purchase wedding dresses (and bridesmaid dresses) online. I love the 21st century.

When searching for your perfect dress, my first advice is to have fun with it. Don’t worry too much, your perfect wedding dress, the one you were meant to be married in, will find you. There are so many styles and designers out there, you are bound to find one that best expresses the type of woman you are. This brings me to my second piece of advice: have your dress be a reflection of you. Do not try to be someone you’re not on your wedding day. The man you are marrying fell in love with you, so the dress that will blow him away, that will make his heart stop when he sees you walking down the aisle, is the dress that best reflects you and your unique, individual beauty. Even if this means you choose a dress that goes against the current trends, be fearless- you won’t regret it. Lastly, trust your instincts. You’ll know your dress when you see it; you’ll know it in your bones. Believe me, I’ve witnessed this knowing first hand countless times.
